Udzungwa National Park

The Udzungwa National Park is about 65 Km south west of Mikumi, covering an area of 1990 square Km, encompases mountain forests, tropical rainforest, miombo, woodland and grass land area.The park it's known as the second largest biodvesity of a National park in Africa and the one of the most ancient ranges of the eastern Arc mountains.The Udzungwa is home to the endemics primate, the Iringa red colobus and Sanje creasted mangabey are the dominant and no where else on the planet. The Udzungwa mountains height range from 250-2576 Meters to the Lohomero peak. There are approximately 400 bird species have been recorded, four of which are deserved in and not found any where. The Udzungwa as know as the Africa Galapagos for its endemic animals and plants,here you will find more than 300 animal species, 96 vertebrates and as more than 2500 plant species. 

Climate 
Rainy season start from November to may and the temperature range from 21°c to 31°c
 
What to do 
The park is accessible only on foot and the popular activities are, forest trekking to sanje waterfall,you might swimm in, camping safaris and hiking. 
 
The best time to visit 
The park is reached all year around but the best time for adventure start from June-October. 
 
How to get there
Drive from Mikumi about 65 Km, and 360 Km from  Dar es salaam.
